He has vast experience creating, operating, and securing software products, highly scalable and reliable services, and performing cybersecurity investigations while holding credentials through the Information System Security Certification Consortium (ISC2) as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). He has held various leadership roles throughout his career for companies like S&P Global Market Intelligence, UVA, Wake Forest, and Microsoft, where he worked as the Program Manager on the highly successful XBOX Live! Team.

Mr. Potter is an Assistant Fire Chief in Fluvanna County. He is a Director on the Economic Development Authority, and is vice-chair of the Fire/Rescue Association. He has served as a Director on the board of the Seattle-King County Disaster Medical Assistance Team (DMAT WA-1), is a former member of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) National Medical Response Team – East (NMRT-E), the North Carolina Disaster Medical Assistance Team (DMAT-NC1) under the Special Operations Response Team (SORT), and the Public Health Service Team One (PHS-1) – making him a founding member of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.  Mr. Potter currently serves as past president and Emergency Services Sector Chief of the Richmond, Va. Chapter of InfraGard. InfraGard is the FBI’s Public/Private cyber intelligence sharing partnership.
